January 25, 2017 (Boston, MA) Boston based singer-songwriter Laura Vecchione’s third studio album, Love Lead, is her first fan-funded and first studio album in eight years. It was worth the wait.
Vecchione recorded Love Lead in Nashville with veteran musicians from her first albums, including Bonnie Raitt’s guitarist, George Marinelli, along with a roster who have backed the likes of Dolly Parton and Lyle Lovett. Her former releases, Deeper Waters and Girl in the Band, received critical acclaim in the US and UK, charted well on the Americana Airplay Chart, and received TV placement on national shows.
Love Lead reveals an artist who has matured and embraced her power. Nashville based co-producer, Doug Wayne says, “Laura is finally allowing herself to be the vocal diva that she is!" Wayne waited years for Vecchione to record again, keeping the faith that “she is a world-class singer that people need to hear!”

Love Lead includes rockers, old school R&B, and beautiful singer-songwriter ballads. Vecchione took a leap of faith to crowd fund the album. In her Indiegogo video, she explains that while she did not know how it would all happen, the songs were about having courage to move forward even when you cannot see the way. Fittingly, Love Lead is named after the title track, a soaring Gospel 6/8 anthem about staying in faith when the way is not yet clear. The album closes with Emmy-winning songwriter Rob Mathes’ poignant lullaby for grown-ups, "Midlife,” a bold choice for a woman in the music industry to embrace and believe there is an emotional need for.
Love Lead is slated to be added to radio on February 6, 2017, when Vecchione begins her official promotion. Laura will tour in support of the new CD, regionally and nationally, throughout 2017.
